Save Our Servicebase
RAF Kinloss

As you may be aware, following the announcement by the Secretary of State for Defence, there are to be staffing and aircraft reductions at RAF Kinloss. Additionally there is also the threat of closure of the RAF base hanging in the balance awaiting a Government decision following a review by the House of Commons Defence Committee.

The reduction of aircraft and personnel at RAF Kinloss will have an impact on the local economy but nothing compared to the total loss of the base. If RAF Kinloss were to close that would mean the loss of several hundred local civilian jobs and a financial loss to the local economy of around £50 Million a year. The loss of this airbase would devastate the local community - it is therefore imperative that you have your say,

  • You can contact the Secretary of State for Defence Rt Hon Geoff Hoon MP directly
  • You can write our local MP, who is heading up a campaign to prevent the closure: Angus Robertson MP, 9 Wards Road, Elgin, IV30 1NL
  • Or put your name to one of the numerous petitions that are available in virtually every retail outlet throughout Moray.
  • Or if you are unable to get out then send us an e-mail and we will append you name to the petition. All we need is your name and address and send it to the SOS findhornbay.info helpline e-mail

The petition needs to be submitted by 1 September 2004 before Angus Robertson addresses the Defence Committee.

Your action could save an entire community from destruction. PLEASE ACT NOW!
