AES Ltd. was established in 1979. The company designs and manufactures high efficiency, selectively coated flat plate solar collectors and provides complete systems. These can be installed by one of AES's installation teams or by the client themselves.
The Findhorn Foundation has fitted 60 square metres of solar collectors on 11 properties, and has plans to retrofit an additional 20 systems to existing buildings. Savings of 55% to 65% on domestic water heating are achieved.
Due to its unique design, the AES solar collectors provide the highest possible efficiency. High quality components provide maintenance free operation. Tedlar outer glazing, developed by DuPont for solar glazing, allows maximum light into the collector whilst retaining 95% of the heat. The Teflon inner glazing acts as a double glazing retaining even more heat.
The state of the art absorber plate comprises of copper waterways metallurgically bonded to aluminium fins. The fins are selectively coated, combining metallic nickel in aluminium oxide, which gives the highest possible photothermal performance.
In combination with the extruded aluminium frame and high quality closed cell foam insulation the AES collectors ensure durability and lightness.
AES panels are used throughout the UK and export markets are expanding into Africa, mainland Europe and the Far East.
