| Wood worked so that you can -
- feel the spirit of the tree as it lives on in a beautifully worked article;
- feel the flowing lines which match and enhance the beauty inherent in the grain and texture;
- feel the love and inspiration with which each piece of wood is turned into a work of art.
My particular style of work developed since I moved to Findhorn and became associated with the Findhorn Foundation community. Previously I had had a training in traditional quality furniture making. I now blend these skills with the beauty in the wood in order to make pieces that both reflect their purpose and are enhanced by the material.
As far as possible I use air dried timber from the local area - oak, ash, elm sycamore; but also fruitwoods and
yew get used. The oil finishes I use deepen the grain patterns in the wood.
